Our History

Prime One Maintenance was established in 1993 by managing director Paul David Whitehead in Sheerness, Kent. Our company provides local and parish councils, and government departments with a one-stop shop for the service, design, installation and maintenance of:

  • CCTV Systems
  • Street Lighting Products
  • Smart Street Lighting
  • Column and Highway Signage
  • Cable and Electrical Accessories
  • Remote Lighting Reporting, Energy Management

With more than 25 years in the industry, Paul knows that maintaining a high standard when it comes to the quality of Prime One Maintenance’s products and services is key to the company’s continuing success.

Based in Sheerness, Kent, the company operates its CCTV and street light monitoring service from its main office alongside a maintenance and storage depot, which includes indoor and outdoor storage facilities, allowing it to provide round-the-clock services throughout the UK.

In 2007, with demand increasing for its products and services, the company started to design and manufacture its own LED lanterns and CCTV mobile cameras at its own facility in Shajing, Shenzhen in China. To ensure the highest quality, all LED lanterns and CCTV mobile cameras are then assembled and tested in the UK.

Designing and manufacturing its own products means Prime One Maintenance can pass on any cost savings directly to its customers, while vastly reducing any failure rate, often high in competitors’ products.

Like all Prime One Maintenance products, its LED lanterns and CCTV mobile cameras are CE and/or FCC-marked, making them suitable for use throughout the European Union and the US.

The company is continually refining its designs and streamlining the manufacturing process, which has ignited the interest of government agencies outside the UK particularly in the US.

In September 2017 the Company released its new Intelligent - Road Lighting Management systems (INTEL - RLM) - This management system remotely controls street lighting networks to set times and output levels of the lighting from any PC, Laptop, Smart Phone - The system reports energy in KWH and removes the element of fixed rate pricing provided by the energy companies thereby saving the client £s in energy billing - Maintenance costs are also reduced as the system reports back live fault data with each light reporting its location, fault-status & creates a fault report that its engineers / clients can review & action.

The ongoing management / support costs are low compared to other suppliers in a similar field and the company plan to complete a large roll out for existing clients and offer a free 2 month trial for new customers interested in this field of advanced smart lighting field
